How to add the Photo of The Day Widget to Your Site using WP Photo Album
The fifth step in the guide to the WP Photo Album Plus WordPress plugin will show you how to optimise and use the Photo of the Day widget, which you can set to show an image (or gallery) on your website’s sidebar for every day.
Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.
Step 2) To set the options for the Photo of the Day widget, head to Photo Albums >> Photo of the Day.
Step 3) The settings begin with Widget Title. Here you can give your widget a name, or leave it as Photo of the Day.
Step 4) You can change the photo width and alignment using the Widget Photo Width settings.
Step 5) The Use Album(s) section is used to select an album or set to pick which photos you would like to use in your widget.
Step 6) The Display Method can be changed from a Fixed Photo, Random, Last Upload and Change every (an option will appear to change number of days). You can also create a Subtitle (between Photo Name, Description and Owner), and link to a page/post using the Link To option.
Step 7) At the bottom of the page, you can check the box of the first image you would like to show on the sidebar of your website via the widget.
Step 8) The next stage is to head to your widgets page, via Appearance >> Widgets.
Step 9) Scroll down to the Photo of the Day widget and drag and drop it into the sidebar of your choice. Alternatively, you can click on the widget and choose the sidebar before hitting the Add Widget button.
Step 10) Once your widget is in place, click on the Save button to set it to your website.
Step 11) Below is an example of what your photo of the day will look like on your website once the widget is live.
The next step in the guide will take you through the other widgets available to users of the plugin.
