How to Setup Auto Generated Emails in AWPCP

In this section of the guide to the Another WordPress Classifieds (AWPCP) plugin, we will take a look at the Email Settings where you can customize the Subject and the Body of the Email for various messages associated with this plugin.

Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.

Step 2) From the left-hand sidebar of the Dashboard, navigate to Classifieds -> Settings -> Email.

Step 3) Complete the fields as outlined below:

A. Ad Renewed Message In this area:

  • Enter/modify the Subject line for the email that will be sent out when an Ad is successfully renewed.
  • Enter/modify the Message Body text for the email that will be sent out when an Ad is successfully renewed.
%s is replaced with the Subject entered above in the recipient’s email.

For this example, no change was made.

B. Ad Expired Message In this area:

  • Enter/modify the Subject line for the email that will be sent out when an Ad has auto-expired.
  • Enter/modify the Message Body text for the email that will be sent out when an Ad has auto-expired.
%s is replaced with the Subject entered above in the recipient’s email.

For this example, no change was made.

C. Renew Ad Message In this area:

  • Enter/modify the Subject line for the email that will be sent out when an Ad is about to expire.
  • Enter/modify the Message Body text for the email that will be sent out when an Ad is about to expire.
%d is replaced with the number of days before the Ad expires..

For this example, no change was made.

Click the Save Settings button to save any changes.

D. Incomplete Payment Message In this area:

  • Enter/modify the Subject line for the email that will be sent out when the payment processing does not complete.
  • Enter/modify the Message Body text for the email that will be sent out when the payment processing does not complete.

For this example, no changes were made.

E. Ad Posted Message In this area:

  • Enter/modify the Subject line for the email that will be sent out when when someone posts an Ad.
  • Enter/modify the Message Body text for the email that will be sent out when when someone posts an Ad.

For this example, the Subject was modified.

F. Reply to Ad Message In this area:

  • Enter/modify the Subject line for the email that will be sent out when someone replies to Ad.
  • Enter/modify the Message Body text for the email that will be sent out when someone replies to Ad.
  • Leave this field checked if you want an email will be sent to the Administrator every time a visitor sends a message to one of the Ad posters through the Reply to Ad page.

For this example, the Body Text was modified.

If the fields were completed as shown above, they will display as follows:

Click the Save Settings button to save any changes.

G. Subject for Request Ad Access Key email In this area:

  • Enter/modify the Subject line for the email that will be sent out when someone requests their Ad access key be re-sent.
  • Enter/modify the Message Body text for the email that will be sent out when when someone requests their Ad access key be re-sent.

For this example, no changes were made.

H. TO email address for outgoing emails By default, emails will be sent TO the WordPress Admin email address entered in the Settings -> General -> E-mail field.

If you would prefer they be sent to a different email address, enter the email address in this textbox.

For this example, no changes were made.

I. FROM email address for outgoing emails By default, emails will be sent FROM the WordPress email address entered in the Settings -> General -> E-mail field.

If you would prefer they be sent from a different email address, enter the email address in this textbox.

For this example, no changes were made.

J. Use sender email for reply messages Check this checkbox to use the name and email of the sender in the FROM field when someone replies to an Ad.

When unchecked the messages go out with the website name and WP admin email address in the from field.

Some servers will not process outgoing emails that have an email address from gmail, yahoo, hotmail and other free email services in the FROM field. Some servers will also not process emails that have an email address that is different from the email address associated with your hosting account in the FROM field. If you are with such a webhost you need to leave this option unchecked and make sure your WordPress admin email address is tied to your hosting account.

For this example, this field was left unchecked.

K. Include Ad access key in email messages If checked, the access key is included in email notifications.

You may want to uncheck this option if you are using the Ad Management panel, but is not necessary.

Click the Save Settings button to save any changes.

Advanced Email Configuration

If you are finding that the emails are not processing normally, you will need to complete the fields shown below.

You may need to consult your IT person to get this information.
