How to Completely Manage Ad Listings in AWPCP

In this section of the guide to the Another WordPress Classifieds (AWPCP) plugin, we will take a look at how to Place an Ad, Approve an Ad, and much more!

Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.

Step 2) From the left-hand sidebar of the Dashboard, navigate to Classifieds -> Listings.

Since there are currently no Ads, let’s add Place a new Ad on behalf of the new User, Tim Smith (created earlier).

If you are logged in as Administrator and Enable Credit System is activated, any payment steps will be skipped.

Step 3) Click the Place Ad button.

Step 4) Complete the fields as follows:

A. Ad Category From the dropdown list, select an available Category and Sub-Category.

Since we decided to assign this Ad to Cook Books -> Best Sellers, a sub-category of Best Sellers needs to be created.

Click here to add this additional category.

B. Select the owner for this Ad From the dropdown list, select an Owner for the Ad.

For this example, Tim Smith was selected.

C. Payment Term If Enable Credit System was activated, click to select the appropriate Payment Term added in earlier.

Click here to add additional Payment Terms.

For this example, 7 Day Listing was selected.

Step 5) Click the Continue button to save any changes and be forwarded to the Ad Details page.

Step 6) From the Enter Ad Details page, complete the fields as follows:

D. Ad Title Enter an appropriate Ad Title (max. 60 characters).

The max. number of characters was set up in Classifieds -> Settings -> Ad/Listings Settings

For this example, the Ad Title, Tim’s Chocolate Cakes was entered.

E. Contact Details This information was populated with the information on Tim’s User Account and can be modified as needed here.

For this example, no changes were made.

F. Item Price Enter the Price for the Cook Book here.

For this example, 12.99 was entered.

G. Ad Description Enter an Ad Description in the textbox (max. 350 characters).

The max. number of characters was set up in Classifieds -> Settings -> Ad/Listings Settings

For this example, text was entered as shown below.

If the fields were completed as outlined above, they will display as follows:

Step 7) Click the Continue button to save any changes and be forwarded to Upload Images page.

Step 8) Complete the fields as outlined below:

H. Image slots available: When the Ad Settings were entered earlier, 6 was entered as the maximum number of images allowed per Ad.
I. Max. Image Size This area displays the max. size of each image allowed to be uploaded.
J. Images Click the Browse button to locate and select an image to be uploaded.
Repeat this process for each additional image to upload.

For this example, one image was selected and the Upload Images button was clicked to upload this image.

K. Preview Ad without Images If you click this button, the Ad will details will display without the images.
L. Upload Image Cick the Upload Images button to upload the images.

Since we selected that no images are displayed unless approved by the Administrator, these images will not display in the Ad until this action is done.

Step 9) Once the Images have been uploaded, the following page will display where you can upload additional photos and preview the ad.

Step 10) For this example, click the Preview Ad button.

Step 11) Click the Finish button to complete this process.

Once the Finish button has been clicked, an email will be sent to the Administrator waiting for their approval.

Step 12) Click on the link in the email to approve the Ad.

Step 13) From the left-hand sidebar of the Dashboard, navigate to Classifieds -> Listings.

Step 14) Hover over the appropriate Ad to display a sub-menu.

Step 15) Click the View hyperlink.

In this area you can perform the following actions on one or more Ads:

  • Mark an Ad as Featured.
  • View any Flagged Ads.
  • View Unpaid Ads.
  • View Ads Waiting Approval.
  • View Images Waiting Approval.
  • View Completed Ads.

You can also perform the following actions on a single Ad:

  • View Ad.
  • Edit Ad.
  • Delete Ad.
  • Dsable Ad.
  • Spam Ad.
  • Send Access Keys.
  • Manage Images.
