How to Change the WordPress AutoSave Frequency

When you are writing posts or pages WordPress automatically saves your work as you go. By default, it does this ever 60 secons, however, you can change this to more or less frequent very easily.

To do this, you will need FTP, SFTP, or SSH access to your server.

Step 1) Log in to your server with FTP, SFTP, or SSH.

Step 2) Locate and open wp-config.php

Step 3) Add the following line to wp-config.php changing the numerical value, in seconds to one of your preference.

define( 'AUTOSAVE_INTERVAL', 33 ); // seconds

Step 4) Save your changes to wp-config.php
