The second step in the guide to the PayPal Donations WordPress plugin will take you through the process of configuring the General Settings to get the best out of the plugin.

Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.

Step 2) From your Admin Panel, head to Settings >> PayPal Donations.

Step 3) There are two settings sections: General and Advanced. We’ll look at the Advanced settings in the next section of the guide. For now, click on General, and add your PayPal merchant ID or email address to the box provided. Then, choose your Currency.

Step 4) The Optional Settings for the plugin include the Page Style and the Return Page. You can enter the name of a custom payment page style into the first box. This can be found in your PayPal account profile. For the latter option you can add the URL to which the donator is taken to following their donation (e.g. your homepage).

Step 5) Using the Defaults section, you can create a default donation amount, purpose of the donation and the reference for the donation. Simply add them into the boxes provided.

Step 6) The Donation Button has three different options. Click on the option you would like to use, or choose the Custom Button option. For this, add the URL of the custom button into the box provided. Then set your country and language for the button. Hit the Save Changes button when you’re finished.

The next step in the guide will focus on the Advanced Settings.
