How to Configure the Audio Player for Blubrry
In this section of the Blubrry PowerPress plugin, we will look at how to select and configure the Audio Player.
Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.
Step 2) From the left-hand sidebar of the Dashboard, navigate to PowerPress -> Audio Player.
Step 3) Click the appropriate radio button to select the media player you would like to use:
MediaElement.js Media Player (default)
The MediaElement.js is an open source HTML5 Audio and Video Player that supports both audio (mp3, m4a and oga) and video (mp4, m4v, webm, ogv and flv) media files.
This option includes all the necessary features for playback including a play/pause button, scroll-able position bar, elapsed time, total time, mute button and volume control.
Step 4) Click the Activate and Configure Now button to display the Configure Player page.
Step 5) Enter a width for the Audio Player. If this field is left blank, Full Width is assumed.
Step 6) Click the Save Changes button to save any changes, display the new width of the Audio Player and set this as the default Audio Player.
|MediaElement.js is the default player in Blubrry PowerPress because it is HTML and CSS based, meets accessibility standards including WebVTT, and will play in any browser using either HTML5, Flash or Silverlight for playback.|
HTML5 Audio Player
The HTML5 Audio is an element introduced in the latest HTML specification (HTML5) for the purpose of playing audio.
Step 7) Click the HTML5 Audio Player radio button to select this option.
Step 8) Click the Activate and Configure Now button to display the Configure Player page.
Step 9) Click the Preview of Player button to see how the Audio Player will display.
Step 10) If you want a custom Play Icon, enter the full path to this image in this textbox. If this field is left blank, the default image will display.
Step 11) Place a checkmark in the Upload New Image checkbox if you have selected an image other than the default image.
Step 12) Click the Save Changes button to save any changes and set this as the default Audio Player.
1 Pixel Out Audio Player
The 1 Pixel Out Audio Player is a popular customizable audio (mp3 only) flash player. The features include an animated play/pause button, scroll-able position bar, elapsed/remaining time, volume control and color styling options.
|Flash based players are no longer recommended.
We highly recommend picking the HTM5 based player.
Step 13) If you want to use this option, click the 1 Pixel Out Audio Player radio button to select.
Step 13) Click the Activate and Configure Now button to display the Configure Player page.
Step 14) On the Configure Player page, you can customize, color, width, volume settings, and more!
Step 15) Click the Save Changes button to save any changes and set this as the default Audio Player.
