How to Configure Lockdown in WP Simple Firewall

The ninth step of the guide to WP Simple Firewall plugin will guide you through the lockdown feature of the plugin, including masking the WordPress version, forcing SSL, and more.

Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.

Step 2) Head to your website Dashboard and scroll down to Simple Firewall -> Lockdown. Enable the lockdown feature by ticking the box provided at the top of the page.


Step 3) The permissions and access options start by giving you the option of enabling or disabling file editing from within WordPress. You can edit files within the WP admin area if the box is left unticked. You can force a login form to be submitted over SSL if you have a valid SSL certificate installed. Tick the box provided to enable the feature. You can also tick a box to enable a forced SSL admin Dashboard o be delivered over the SSL too.


Step 4) The WordPress obscurity options can help you to prevent a public display of your WordPress version. If you leave this blank, the feature will be disabled. You can also remove te WordPress generator meta tag by ticking the box provided. This will remove any signs that your site is WordPress from the pages of your site.
