Configuring Easy Social Share Buttons – Custom E-mail Message Setup

In this section of the guide to the Easy Social Share Buttons plugin, we will look at how to customize texts to display when visitors share your content by email button.

If you did not select Email as a Social Network in Main Settings -> Social Share Buttons, there is no need to set this up.

Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.

Step 2) On the left-hand sidebar of the Dashboard, click Easy Social Share Buttons to display the Main Settings tab.

Step 3) Scroll down until you see the Customize E-mail Message area and click to select.

Step 4) Complete the fields as outlined below:

A. Disable editing of mail message Place a checkmark in this checkbox to prevent users from changing the default message.

For this example, this field was checked.

B. Send to mail button function From the dropdown list, select how you want the mail button to function.

By default it uses the built-in popup window with the sendmail option, however you can change this to the link option which will open the user’s client mail program.

For this example, send mail using popup form was selected.

C. Message subject Modify the subject field as needed. You can use the custom variables %%siteurl%%, “%%title%%” and %%permalink%% here.

For this example, Visit our site %%siteurl%% was entered.

D. Message body Modify the message body field as needed. You can use the variables outlined above.

For this example, Hi, You may find this interesting: “%%title%%”! This is the link: %%permalink%% was entered.

E. Send copy of all messages to Enter an email address of where you would like the messages sent to.

For this example, info@acme.net was entered.

Step 5) Click the Update Settings button to save any changes.

Localization

Step 6) Complete the fields as outlined below:

F. to O. Localize Mail Form Fields If you are using another language, enter the translation for the field names in the appropriate textboxes.

For example, all the text in English was translated to French.

Step 7) Click the Update Settings button to save any changes.

Activate AntiSpam Captcha Verification & Send Mail Settings

Step 8) Complete the fields as outlined below:

P. Captcha Message Enter a captcha question to ask users to validate that they are human.

For this example, What is 3 x 9? was entered.

Q. Captcha Answer Enter the answer to the captcha question entered above.

For this example, 27 was entered.

R. Use wpMandrill for send mail Place a checkmark in this checkbox to be able to send messages with wpMandrill. You will need to install this plugin to activate this option. Click here for details.

For this example, this field was left unchecked.

Step 9) Click the Update Settings button to save any changes.
