Configuring Easy Social Share Buttons – After Social Share Actions

In this section of the guide to the Easy Social Share Buttons plugin, we will look at how to setup the After Social Share Actions!

After Social Share Actions allows you to encourage users to perform additional actions after a content is shared (like us or follows us after share, display subscribe form and etc.).

Please note that the After Social Share Actions Module is not compatible with Social Privacy when Like/Follow After Share is active.

If Social Privacy was activated in the Social Like, Follow and Subscribe Buttons Module, navigate to this area and remove the checkmark. Click here to to go to this guide.

Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.

Step 2) On the left-hand sidebar of the Dashboard, click Easy Social Share Buttons to display the Main Settings tab.

Step 3) Scroll down until you see the After Social Share Actions area and click to select.

After Social Share Actions

Step 4) Complete the fields as outlined below:

A. Activate after social share action Place a checkmark in this checkbox to activate After Social Share Action.

For this example, this field was checked.

B. Do not display after social share action for mobile devices Place a checkmark in this checkbox to disable the display of After Social Share Actions on mobile devices.

For this example, this field was left unchecked.

C. After close action type From the dropdown list, select your After Close Action. The available options are:

  • Like/Follow Box
  • Custom HTML Message (for example: a subscribe form)
  • Custom User Code

For this example, Custom HTML Message was selected.

D. Popup message width Enter a custom width in pixels for popup window. The default popup width is 400px.

For this example, 360px was entered.

E. Display popup message once for selected time Place a checkmark in this checkbox to prevent a popup window from displaying on every page load. This option will make it display once for selected period of days.

For this example, this field was checked.

F. Days between popup message display Enter the number of days when a popup message will appear again. Leave blank for the default value of 7 days.

For this example, 3 was entered.

Step 5) Click the Update Settings button to save any changes.

Like/Follow Box Options

Step 6) Complete the fields as outlined below:

G. Text before like/follow buttons Enter a message that will appear before buttons. This textarea is HTML supported.

For this example, Please Like and/or Follow Us was entered.

H. Display type From the dropdown list, select the number of columns that social profiles will appear. The available options are 1-3 columns.

Please note that using a greater value may require you to increase the popup window width.

For this example, 1 column was selected

Step 7) Click the Update Settings button to save any changes.

Social Media Like/Follow Box Options

In this area, you can setup the Like/Follow options for the desired Social Media by entering in the appropriate URL for each Social Network.

The available options are:

  • Facebook
  • Google+
  • Twitter
  • Pinterest
  • YouTube
  • LinkedIn

For this example, the fields were completed for Facebook andTwitter as follows:

Step 8) Click the Update Settings button to save any changes.

Custom HTML Message Box Options

In the Custom HTML Message box enter any text or code. This can be a subscribe form shortcode or anything else you want to display.

For this example, a heading and a subscribe form shortcode was added.

Step 9) Click the Update Settings button to save any changes.

Custom User Code Box Options

In the Custom User Code, box, enter any JavaScript code you want to execute.

The available parameters are:

  • oService – social network clicked by user.
  • oPostID – for the post where button is clicked.

Step 13) Click the Update Settings button to save any changes.
