Configuring the Settings of the WP Media Category Management Plugin

The second step of the guide to the WP Media Category Management plugin will show you how to setup taxonomies in the plugin for the best experience.

Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.

Step 2) From the Admin Panel, click on WP MCM >> MCM Shortcodes.


Step 3) On the Settings page, you can choose to show category toggles in the list view of the Media Library. This means that you can tie images in to different categories in bulk.


Step 4) You can choose which media taxonomy to use to manage the media by choosing one from the dropdown provided, including ml-slider, media categories and more.


Step 5) You can create a custom plural and/or singular name for your Custom MCM Taxonomy by adding them into the boxes provided.


Step 6) Tick the box marked Use Default Category to use the default category when adding or editing an attachment. Once ticked, choose the category from the dropdown provided to set the default media category.


Step 7) Tick the box marked Use Post Taxonomy to use your post category for attachments.
