How to Install and Authorise the Google Analytics Dashboard Plugin
In the first part of the guide to the Google Analytics Dashboard WordPress Plugin, we will take you through the installation and authorisation sections of the plugin. This will get you up and running and have every page of your website verified with Google Analytics.
Installing the Plugin
Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.
Step 2) To install the Google Analytics Dashboard plugin, head to the Plugins section on the Dashboard and choose Add New from the dropdown.
Step 3) In the search box, type in Google Analytics Dashboard and click Search Plugins to start the search.
Step 4) On the Search Results page, click the Install Now button to get the installation started.
Activating the Plugin
Step 5) On the next page, activate the plugin by clicking on the Activate Plugin button.
Step 6) This will take you through to the Installed Plugins page. Scroll down to Google Analytics Dashboard for WP and click on the Settings button.
Authorising the Plugin
Step 7) On the Plugin Authorization page, click on Authorize Plugin, which will take you through to your Google Account. Sign-in to this to authorise the plugin and take you through to the next page, where you can verify your site for Google Analytics.
Step 8) On the next page, click on the link that says Get Access Code. This will redirect you to your Google Account, where you can sign in and get the access code you need to progress and install GA throughout your site. Click on Save Access Code when you have cut and pasted the code into the box below.
Step 9) The plugin is now authorised! You can clear authorisation and the cache at any time, and if you have more than one website set up at your Google Account, you can choose which one to track with Google Analytics from the Select Domain box. You can also enable a frontend widget that will show your GA stats on the sidebar throughout your website.
The next step of the guide will focus on How to Use Tracking Codes with the Google Analytics Dashboard.
