Importing and Exporting CSV Files in Business Directory
The final guide to Business Directory will show you how to import and export data through CSV files, which can contain settings and listings, and is a great way to back-up data.
Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.
Step 2) On the Admin Panel, head to Directory Admin >> CSV Import. From here, you can import data into your directory by uploading CSV files and ZIP files containing images using the Choose File options.
Step 3) The CSV File items – including columns, images and cateories – can be separated. Here you can set the separator. The defaults are usually , or ;
Step 4) The Import Settings section is used to set the post status of imported listings, auto-create categories, generate errors when a category is not found, assign listings to a user and set the default listing user.
Step 5) The Help section gives you a heads up as to what the Header Name/Labels that are used in the CSV file. You can view an example CSV import file to get acquainted with how it looks.
Step 6) Head to Directory Admin >> CSV Export from the Admin Panel to head to the export section. From here, you can use the Export Settings to prepare an export file, filled with all your settings and directory entries. It is a great way to back-up your directories.
