How to Setup and Configure the Instagram Feed WordPress Plugin

In this section of the guide to Instagram Feed, we will show you how to set up and configure this plugin.

Some options are not available in the Free version.
Click here if you want to upgrade to the Pro version.

Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.

Step 2) From the left-hand sidebar of the Dashboard, navigate to Instagram Feed.


This guide assumes you have an Instagram Account.
If you do not have an Instagram Account click here for instructions.

Step 3) Complete the fields as outlined below:


A. Configure Click the Log in and get my Access Token and User ID button to be forwarded to the Instagram Login page.


Using the appropriate credentials log in to Instagram.

B. Access Token Enter your Access Token in the textbox. To generate an Access Code, click here.
C. Show Photos From Enter your User ID in this textbox. This is the ID of the Instagram Account you want to display photos from. To get your ID simply click on the button above and log into Instagram.

You can also display photos from other peoples Instagram accounts. To find their User ID you can use this tool.
D. Preserve settings when plugin is removed If checked, this will prevent any settings from being deleted. This means that you can uninstall and reinstall the plugin without losing your settings.


Step 4) Click the Save Settings button to save any changes.


E. Customize Select the width, height and background color of the Instagram Feed.
F. Photos Select the sort order, number of photos to display, number of columns to display, image resolution and padding for the Instragram Feed.


Below are our settings for this area:


Step 5) Click the Save Settings button to save any changes.

G. Load More If checked, the Load More button will display on the Instagram Feed.

Don’t forget to select the button background color and button text color.

H. Disabled Fields This area is disabled for the Free version. Click here if you want to upgrade to the Pro version.
I. Custom CSS Enter your custom css in this text area.
J. Custom JavaScript Enter your custom javascript in this text area.

For this example, no changes were made.


Step 6) Click the Save Settings button to save any changes.

Display The Feed

Step 7) Copy and paste the following shortcode directly into the page, post or widget where you’d like the feed to show up:

If you’d like to display multiple feeds then you can set different settings directly in the shortcode like so:
[instagram-feed num=9 cols=3]

You may want to look at the available options for the Free vs Pro versions to further customize the Instagram Feed.
