How to Install and Use Note to Create Custom Widgets

Hello and welcome to the WordPress Plugin guide for Note, a live edit text widget which allows you to create custom widgets on the sidebars of your website without any code or web development experience whatsoever. It only takes a matter of seconds to get a fully functioning widget up and running on your site.

Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.

Step 2) On the Dashboard of your website, scroll down the left-hand sidebar and click on Plugins


Step 3) From the Installed Plugins page, click on Add New at the top of the page. Alternatively, click on Add New from the dropdown menu under Plugins on the sidebar.


Step 4) On the Add Plugins page, type in the name of your plugin in the search box on the right hand side, at the top of the page.


Step 5) From the Search Results page, scroll down to your chosen plugin and click the button marked Install Now. If you would like to learn more about your plugin, click the blue link marked More Details


Step 6) The plugin is now installed and unpacked into your website. The last thing to do now is click Activate Plugin


Step 7) Once activated, you will be redirected to the Installed Plugins page. From here, you can read all the info about your plugins, and deactivate and delete it if you no longer need it.


Step 8) Head back to your Admin Panel and choose Appearance >> Widgets from the sidebar.


Step 9) Scroll down your widgets page until you come across Note Widget.


Step 10) When you click on Note Widget, you will be given options as to where to position the plugin. Your choice of location will depend on your WordPress Theme, and how many sidebars they have. Click Add Widget once you have made your choice.


Step 11) The alternative to clicking on Note Widget is to drag and drop it into the sidebar of your choice, as shown below.


Step 12) Once Note Widget is in place, you can create a title and add a custom CSS class. Once you are ready to get started, click on the Edit Content button.


Step 13) Clicking on the Edit Content button will take you to your Appearance >> Customise section. From here, you will find Note Widget in place. From here, you can click on it and add lines of text and images.


Step 14) Below is an example of how a custom-made product widget created with Note Widget will appear on your site.
