How to Use Aksimet for Jetpack
The final part of the guide to the Jetpack WordPress plugin takes a look at Akismet. You should read our guide to installing and activating Akismet first, if you haven’t already got an Akismet key, then come back to this section of the guide. Alternatively, if you already have an Akismet key set up, read on!
Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.
Step 2) From the Dashboard, click on Jetpack, then choose Akismet from the dropdown.
Step 3) Your Akismet stats will show up in the form of a graph, like the one shown below. These stats show how much spam has been blocked over the course of the time that your site has been live. You’ll be amazed at how much Akismet will catch over time!
Step 4) In the Settings section of Akismet, you first have to enter your API key into the box provided. This will link Akismet with your site and ensure that your spam gets blocked. You can tick a box that will show the number of approved comments next to each author who comments on your site, and you can alter the strictness of the spam so that you never see the worst of it. Any spam that comes through is deleted automatically after 15 days.
Step 5) Your Account depends on which Akismet account you have. Most website owners will opt for the Personal Free Account, but there are others to choose from via the Akismet website.
This concludes our guide of the Jetpack plugin.
