Apply Tax to Downloadable Products? Please refer to your local tax laws prior to deciding which radio button to select.
Note: If Yes is selected, tax rates will be the default for your base location.
The default value is Yes.
I. Collect Address on Downloadable Only Cart? If you need to tax downloadable products and don’t want to default to the rates for your base location, select the Yes radio button to always collect the shipping address. The default value is No.
- Currency Settings
J. Store Currency From the dropdown list select your store’s base Currency. These preferences affect display only. Your Payment Gateway of choice may not support every currency listed here. K. - Miscellaneous Settings
M. Inventory Warning Threshold At what low stock count do you want to be warned for products you have enabled inventory tracking for. The options range from 0-100. The default value is 3. N. Hide Out of Stock Products Selecting Yes for this option will set the product status to draft (not available in the front-end of your store), if inventory of all variations is gone. The default value is No. O. Maximum Downloads Select from the dropdown list how many times a customer can download a file they have purchased. The options range from 1-100. The default value is 5.
Note: It is best to set this number higher than one in case the customer has any problems downloading the file.
P. Limit Digital Products Per-order Selecting Yes will prevent multiples of the same downloadable product from being added to the cart. Per-product custom limits will override this. The default value is Yes. Q. Force Login Select whether or not customers must be registered and logged in to checkout. The default value is No..
Note: Selecting Yes is not recommended as this can lower conversions.
R. Product Listings Only This option turns MarketPress into more of a product listing plugin, disabling shopping carts, checkout, and order management. This is useful if you simply want to list items you can buy in a store somewhere else, optionally linking the Buy Now buttons to an external site. Some examples are a car dealership, linking to songs/albums in iTunes, or linking to products on another site with your own affiliate links. The default value is No. S. Google Analytics Ecommerce Tracking If you already use Google Analytics for your website, you can track detailed eCommerce information by enabling this setting. In order to enable Google Analytics Ecommerce Tracking, you must upgrade your MarketPress version. There is a fee associated with this.
Note: Some gateways do not reliably show the receipt page, so tracking may not be accurate in those cases. It is recommended to use the PayPal gateway for the most accurate data.
T. Special Instructions Field Selecting Yes will display a text box on the shipping checkout page for customers to enter special instructions for their order. Click here to view the Messages Tab where you can customize your text for various eCommerce pages. The default value is No.
Click the Save Settings button to save your changes.
The next step in the guide will focus on the Coupons feature.
