Configuring Your Store’s Presentation in MarketPress eCommerce

In this section of the guide to the MarketPress eCommerce plugin, we will take a look at configuring your Store Style (Theme) and how products are displayed.

Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.

Step 2) On the left-hand sidebar of the Dashboard navigate to Products -> Store Settings -> Presentation.

  • Store Style

    A. Store Style This option changes the built-in css styles for store pages.
    The two available options are:

    • Icons
    • None- Custom Theme Template

    For a custom css style, save your css file with the MarketPress Style: NAME header in the /home/yourwebsite/public_html/wp-content/marketpress-styles/ folder and it will appear in this list so you may select it.

    You can also select None and create custom theme templates and css to make your own completely unique store design.

    If you would a different theme, click here to sign up at MarketPress where there are many different themes available. There is a fee associated with this.

    B. Full-featured MarketPress Themes Two examples of MarketPress themes. There is a fee associated with this.
    C. Breadcrumbs for Purchase Process Select Yes to show previous, current and next steps when a customer is purchasing their cart. The default value is Yes.

  • Single Product Settings

    D. Checkout Button Type Click to select a Checkout Button Type that will be displayed on the site. The default value is Add to Cart.
    E. Show Quantity Option Click to select whether or not to display the quantity option on a product. The default value is Yes.
    F. Show Product Image Click to select whether or not to display a product image. The default value is Yes.
    G. Product Image Size Click to select the size for your image or select Custom and enter in a custom height and width.

    The WP Thumbnail size, WP Medium size and WP Large size refers to the sizes set up in Media Settings.

    H. Show Image Alignment Click to select the image alignment. The default value is Left.
    I. Show Image Lightbox Selecting Yes makes clicking the single product image open an instant zoomed preview.
    J. Disable Large Image Display Selecting Yes disables the Display Larger Image function. Clicking a product image will not display a larger image. The default value is No.
    K. Show Related Products Selecting Yes will display related products on a single product page. The default value is Yes.

  • Related Products Settings

    L. Related Product Limit Enter the number of related products to display on a single product page. The default value is 3.
    M. Products Related By Select a Related By option from the dropdown list.
    N. Show Related Products as Simple List Selecting No will use the List/Grid View setting to display the Related Products. The default value is No.

  • Product List Settings

    O. Product List View Click to select the product view type. The default value is Grid View.
    P. Checkout Button Type Click to select a Checkout Button Type that will be displayed on the site. The default value is Add to Cart.
    Q. Show Product Thumbnail Click to select whether or not to display a product thumbnail image. The default value is Yes.
    R. Product Thumbnail Size Click to select the size for your thumbnail image or select Custom and enter in a custom height and width.

    S. Show Thumbnail Alignment Click to select the thumbnail alignment. The default value is Left.
    T. Show Excerpts Click to select whether or not to display excerpts. The default value is Yes.
    U. Paginate Products Click to select whether or not to use pagination when displaying products and enter the number of products/page to display. The default value is Yes displaying 20 products/page.
    V. Order Products By From the dropdown list, select an Order By option then click to select whether to display the option in Ascending or Descending order. The default value is Product Name in Descending order.
    W. Show Product Filters Click to select whether or not to display Product Category and Order By filters at the top of listings pages. The default value is Yes.

  • Store URL Slugs

    In the Store URL Slugs area you can customize your store structure by modifying the default directories.

  • Social

    The Social area provides you with display options for your Pinterest account.

Click the Save Settings button to save your changes.
