How to Manage Product Tags in MarketPress eCommerce
In this section of the guide to the MarketPress eCommerce plugin, we will take a look at Product Tags.
Product Tags are similar to Product Categories, but Product Tags are generally used to describe your post/product in more detail. Product Tags are recognized by Search Engines and Tag Service Crawlers as Product Tags and they are treated like keywords.
Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.
Step 2) On the left-hand sidebar of the Dashboard navigate to Products -> Product Tags.
To add a new Tag, complete the fields as shown below.
|A.||Popular Tags||This area displays hyperlinks of the existing Product Tags.|
|B.||Add New Tag||In this text box, enter a unique name for the Product Tag.|
|C.||Slug||The Slug is the URL-friendly version of the Product Tag name. It is usually all lowercase and contains only letters, numbers, and hyphens. If no Product Tag name is entered when the Product Tag is added, one will be automatically assigned.|
|D.||Description||In this text area, enter a description for the Product Tag.|
|E.||Add New Tag Button||Click the button to add the new Product Tag.|
|F.||Tag List||Once the Product Tag has been added, it will display in the Product Tags area shown below.
To edit, delete or view a Product Tag, mouse-over any Product Tag name to display a sub-menu. Click the appropriate hyperlink.
You can also perform a Bulk Delete on Tags by placing check marks in the check boxes of the appropriate Product Tag(s), OR placing a check mark in the Name heading check box (which selects all Tags), selecting Delete from the Bulk Actions dropdown list and clicking the Apply button.
If you have completed the fields as outlined above, the Product Tags area should now look like this:
