How to Add New Role to WordPress with Members
In this section of the guide to the Members plugin, we will show you how to Add a New Role.
Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.
Step 2) From the left-hand sidebar of the Dashboard navigate to Users -> Add New Role.
For this example, we will create a new Role, Quality Control.
Step 3) Complete the fields as outlined below:
|A.||Role Name||Enter a unique Role Name. The Role Name should contain only alphanumeric characters and underscores.
For this example, quality_control was entered.
|B.||Role Label||Enter a unique Role Label. The Role Label is used to represent the role in the WordPress Admin Panel.
For this example, Quality Control was entered.
|C.||Role Capabilities||Select the capabilities this role should have by placing checkmarks in the appropriate checkboxes. These options may be updated later.
For this example, we have given the Quality Control Role the ability to Read and Edit all posts and pages.
Step 4) Click the Add Role button to complete this process.
The new Role is now available in Users -> Roles.
