Create Awesome Galleries with the ML Slider WordPress Plugin

In this guide, we will take you through the process of installing and optimising the ML Slider WordPress Plugin, which can be used to create awesome sliders on the pages of your website, including posts and photos, and really wow your readers and customers.

Step 1) Scroll down the Dashboard sidebar until you find ‘Plugins’ and then click on ‘Add New’ to be taken to the search page.


Step 2) On the’ Search’ page of the Install Plugins page, type ‘ML Slider’ into the search box provided, then click ‘Search Plugins’


Step 3) Scroll down the Install Plugins search results page until you come across ‘Meta Slider’, which is what the ML Slider plugin is known as. Read the description on the right, then click ‘Install Now’ to get the ball rolling.


Step 4) The package of ML Slider will be downloaded and installed onto your website. Now all you need to do is click ‘Activate Plugin’ at the bottom to finish the process and get Meta Slider for your website.


Step 5) ‘Meta Slider’ can be found at the bottom of the left-hand sidebar of the Dashboard. Give it a click and you will be sent to the page where you can start to create your first slideshow. Simply follow the instructions below and you can get started.


Step 6) When creating a slideshow, you can start a new slider by clicking on the + next to ‘New Slider’, and add a slide to an existing slider at any time by clicking ‘Add Slide’ and choosing a photo from your computer or device. You can also choose between four different types of slider: Flex, R. Sliders, Nivo Slider and Coin Slider. This will change the style of effects of the slider, and you can use the Settings provided to make changes to your sliders before previewing them and saving them when you’re happy with what you have created.


Step 7) When you have saved your slider, you can enter it into any WordPress post or page by copy and pasting the shortcode that can be found in the Usage box, as shown below.


Step 8) The Advanced Settings can be used to give your sliders flexibility, including the alignment, speed of slideshow, autoplay and more. Give some of these settings a try if you want to test them out with your sliders, then save them when you get the slider the way you want it.


Step 9) You can copy and paste the shortcode for your slider into the template file of your WordPress theme using the code shown below. This will mean that it will be a permanent feature of your theme and will be automatically added to your posts and pages.


Step 10) When adding an image to your slider, you can upload images from your computer or choose ones already in your Media Libarary, as shown below. Click ‘Add to Slider’ after you have chosen the photos you want to add.


Step 11) Once you have added the photos you want in your sliders and made any additional notes or changes to the slider, click ‘Save and Preview’ to see if you are 100% happy with what you have produced.


Step 12) The slider will pop up and you can see how it will appear on your site. If you’re happy with it, click out from the slideshow and click ‘Save’. Your slider will now be up and running on your site.
