How to Monitor WordPress Stats using the WP Statistics Plugin

The fourth and final step in the guide to the WP Statistics WordPress plugin will show you how to monitor the statistical data created by the plugin.

Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.

Step 2) From the Admin Panel, click on Statistics >> Overview. This is where all of your stats can be seen, and are split into various columns.

The Summary covers visitors and visits over time, and how many are online.

On the right, you can view Today’s Visitors based on their location, viewed on the world map.


Step 3) The Search Engine Referrals show stats from all the enabled search engines, including Google, Yahoo, Bing and others.

The Hit Statistics show how many hits are coming to your site by date.


Step 4) The Browsers stats show the Top 10 Browsers on your site.

The Search Engine Referrals show how many referrals are coming in via the search engines ever day.


Step 5) The next sections are Top Referring Sites (including websites, blogs, etc.), Top 10 Pages and the Top 10 Countries where your website stats are coming from.

The Recent Visitors show you who has visited your site in the last few hours.


Step 6) Head to Statistics >> Browsers from your Admin Panel to see your browser stats by type (Chrome, FireFox, etc.) and Platform (Windows, etc.)


Step 7) Head to Statistics >> Countries to see your stats ranked by top countries, based on a visitor count.


Step 8) Head to Statistics >> Exclusions to see the number of excluded stats from the various sources that have been excluded from your regular stats, including from user agents such as Admins, Editors and more.

The stats are set into various dates, including 10 Days, 20 Days, 6 Months and more.


Step 9) Head to Statistics >> Hits to view the Hits Statistics Chart for various times, including over 10, 20 and 30 days, 2, 3, 6 and 9 months, and 1 year, based on the visits and visitors.


Step 10) Head to Statistics >> Online to view the users who are currently online and on the website.


Step 11) Head to Statistics >> Pages to see the Top 5 Pages, and how many hits they are getting per page.


Step 12) To see the Top Referring Sites sending visitors to your website, head to Statistics >> Referrers.


Step 13) Head to Statistics >> Searches to see the Search Engine Referral statistics, which can be viewed over any period of time, from 10, 20, 30 days to months and even a year.


Step 14) Knowing which search terms are bringing visitors to your site is important, so head to Statistics >> Search Words to see the latest search word stats across multiple search engines, including Bing, Yahoo and Google.


Step 15) Head to Statistics >> Top Searches Today to see daily stats based on the top 100 visitors of the day, set into Hits, Country, IP address, Agent and Platform.


Step 16) Head to Statistics >> Visitors to view your Recent Visitors, which is split into IP address, web link, and much more.
