The third step of the guide to the Newsletter plugin will guide you through the diagnostic information, used to ensure that everything is working correctly with your newsletters, and they are being sent out without any issues.

Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.

Step 2) Scroll down the left-hand sidebar of your Dashboard until you find Newsletter, then choose Diagnostic from the dropdown menu.

1

Step 3) The Newsletter Diagnostic is used to test procedures and ensure everything is working correctly. To test this, enter an email addess in the Test your mail system box and click either (or both) send an email with WordPress, or send few emails with Newsletter. This will indicate whether you have any issues.

2

Step 4) The system check and upgrade has four options on its toolbar: Logging, Semphores and Crons, System and Maintenance. For logging, detailed information is written into the log files to keep tabs on the working status. You can change the Log Level from None to Error, Normal or Debug. Hit save when you’re done.

3

Step 5) The Semaphores and Crons ensures that the delivery system is enabled and running effectively. Keep an eye out for Inactive or Running Now messages, otherwise this will be working fine.

4

Step 6) The system parameters will give you all the details you need to know about the safe running of your system from the amount of memory being used in relation to the memory limit, to the PHP execution time and more.

5

Step 7) The Maintenance feature is for checking to see if any upgrades are required (hit the Force an upgrade button should you need to), restoring all dismissed messages (should you need to check for any missed messages) and forcing an upgrade from very old versions of the plugin, rather than the last upgrade.

The next step of the guide will focus on How to Refine the Subscription Process with Newsletter.
