How to Enable Maintenance Mode with All In One WP Security & Firewall
In this section of the guide to the All In One WP Security & Firewall plugin, we will take a look at Maintenance Mode.
Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.
Step 2) On the left-hand sidebar of the Dashboard navigate to WP Security -> Maintenance.
The options for this feature are shown below.
- Visitor Lockout
This feature allows you to put your site into maintenance mode by locking down the front-end to all visitors except logged in users with super admin privileges.
Locking your site down to general visitors can be useful if you are investigating some issues on your site or perhaps you might be doing some maintenance and wish to keep out all traffic for security reasons.
A. Enable Front-end Lockout: Place a check mark in this check box if you want all visitors except those who are logged in as administrator to be locked out of the front-end of your site. B. Editor Here you can enter and format a message that the visitors will see when they navigate to your site while it is in maintenance mode. Click the Save Site Lockout Settings button to put your site in to maintenance mode.
The next step in the guide will focus on the Miscellaneous feature.
