Pinterest Verify WordPress Plugin Guide

Hello and welcome to the guide to the Pinterest Verify WordPress Plugin, which is a great way to verify your webite via your Pinterest account and ensure that your visitors can see that you are a legitimate and trust worthy source.

Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.

Step 2) On the Dashboard of your website, scroll down the left-hand sidebar and click on Plugins

Step 3) From the Installed Plugins page, click on Add New at the top of the page. Alternatively, click on Add New from the dropdown menu under Plugins on the sidebar.

Step 4) On the Add Plugins page, type in the name of your plugin in the search box on the right hand side, at the top of the page.

Step 5) From the Search Results page, scroll down to your chosen plugin and click the button marked Install Now. If you would like to learn more about your plugin, click the blue link marked More Details

Step 6) The plugin is now installed and unpacked into your website. The last thing to do now is click Activate Plugin

Step 7) Once activated, you will be redirected to the Installed Plugins page. From here, you can read all the info about your plugins, and deactivate and delete it if you no longer need it. However, in this instance, click on the Setup Pinterest Verification Now button to get started, or choose Settings from underneath the plugin title.

Step 8) On the Pinterest Verify Settings page, you can add the verification code to include the proper meta tag into your websites front page. Pinterest Site Verification can be achieved by logging into Pinterest, going to Your Profile and choosing Edit Profile. From there, enter you website address and then click the verify website button. This will generate the meta tag that you need to enter into the box shown below. Click on the Save Changes button when you’ve done that.

Step 9) Once you have added the Meta Tag, head back to your Pinterest account and head back to the Verify Your Website page (found under Edit Your Profile). Follow the instructions shown in the screenshot below, starting with downloading the verification file or by verifying the meta tag you’ve just used.

Step 10) You will now be given a 32 character verification code, and that is what you will copy and paste into the verification box. Hey Presto, you now have a verified website on Pinterest, and your results will now show in the search engines.
