What are WordPress Post Formats?

Post formats are a way of theme creators to give a different look to different types of posts. For example, you could have a post use a different font or color for the “Status” format to indicate that it’s not a full blog post.

This can help separate different types of posts and make it easier for your visitors to find what they are looking for.

For example, using the default WordPress theme (Twenty Thirteen), here is the difference between a standard post and a status post (separated by the red line)…
