How to Use the Short Pixel Bulk Image Tool
The third and final step in the guide to the Short Pixel WordPress Plugin guide will show you how to use the Bulk Image tool, which is designed to reduce the file size of the images on your website without reducing the quality, therefore saving disk space and improving load times.
Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.
Step 2) From the Admin Panel, click on Media >> Bulk ShortPixel. You can also get to the same page via Settings >> Short Pixel, and then scrolling down and clicking on the Bulk Process button.
Step 3) The Bulk Image tool will calculate how many images you have in your library. From here, click on the Compress all your Images button to start the optimisation process.
Step 4) The bulk optimisation will begin, and take a few seconds or a few minutes depending on the number of images in your library. At the bottom-left corner of the site, there will be a % timer that you can track, but the best thing to do is be patient and wait until the optimisation is complete. There is a rough guide (shown in the image below) for how long the process will take.
Step 5) If your bulk optimisation has been successful, you page will look as it is in the image below. You can compress your images again at any time by clicking on the Compress all your images button. You can view your stats by clicking on the Go to the ShortPixel stats link in the main text.
Step 6) Below is an example of the ShortPixel stats after using the bulk image optimisation tool. As you can see, 64 files have been processed, and 2.18 MB of disk space has been saved. If you have 100, 200, or 1,000 images through your site, you can save yourself GB’s of disk space, and speed up your site considerably as a result. You can empty your backups of the original images at any time by clicking on the Empty Backups button at the bottom of your stats.
This concludes our guide of the Short Pixel plugin.
