The third step in the guide to the WP Media Category Management WordPress plugin will focus on setting up a Media Category using the plugin.

Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.

Step 2) From the Admin Panel, click on Media >> MCM Categories to find the MCM Category page.

Step 3) The first step in creating a new MCM Category is to give your category a name, using the box provided.

Step 4) The next step is to create a slug that will appear as the URL at the end of the media file.

Step 5) Next up, give your Category a description, so that all users of your site will know what to expect from the Category. Hit the Add New MCM Category button when you’re done.

Step 6) Once added, your new MCM Category can be found on the right-hand side. It will show you how many posts are included in the category. You can edit, add and delete categories from this page.

Step 7) Head to Media >> Library to see your full list of media files. You will see the MCM Categories section between Author and Uploaded To.

Step 8) To Toggle your images and add them to the MCM Category of your choice, tick the boxes next to the images and then choose Toggle [Name of Category]. Hit the Apply button to finish the process.

Step 9) Below is how the Media Library will look once you have toggled your media to the same category.

The final step in the guide will show you how to manage the shortcodes available to users of the plugin.
