The eighth step of the guide to the WP Simple Firewall plugin will look at the automatic updates feature of the plugin.

Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.

Step 2) Head to the Dashboard and scroll down to Simple Firewall. Choose Automatic Updates from the dropdown menu provided. On the page, tick the box to enable the feature.

Step 3) You can disable all automatic updates by ticking the box provided. You’ll be free from auto updates forever!

Step 4) Tick the box for automatic plugin self-update if you want to always automatically update the plugin. If you leave it unticked, you’ll have to update the plugin manually.

Step 5) You can set auto-updates for a variety of WordPress components, including plugins, themes and translations. You can choose how the WordPress Core updates automatically, including Minor Versions Only or Major and Minor Versions Only. If you use SVN or GIT, WordPress will detect it and disable your automatic updates. Check the box provided to ignore version control systems and allow automatic updates.

Step 6) Set the report email address and tick the box marked Send report email to get automatic update notifications sent to your email address. If you leave the box empty, the notification emails will be sent to the Site Admin email address.

The next step of the guide will focus on How to Configure Lockdown in WP Simple Firewall.
