In this section of the guide to the Sucuri Security plugin, we will take a look at Malware, Firewalls and other ways to tighten security.

Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.

Step 2) On the left-hand sidebar of the Dashboard navigate to Sucuri Security -> Dashboard.

Any time a change is made to your WordPress site, the activity is recorded in the Audit Logs area.

A few examples are:

  • File Modifications
  • User Login Details
  • User Password Change
  • Files Uploaded
  • Theme Change
  • Plugin Changes

If any files were tampered with, an alert box will be displayed at the top of this tab. Click the Show Files button to expand this area.

For this example, you will notice that 3 WordPress core files were added, modified or removed.

These files should be investigated in order to maintain the integrity of your site.

The next step of the guide will focus on Performing a Malware Scan with Sucuri Security.
