Understanding Information and Security Alerts in Acunetix WP Security
The third step of the guide to the Acunetix WordPress Security plugin will take a look at the Dashboard of the plugin, and what it can do for you and your site.
Step 1) On the Dashboard, scroll down to ‘WP Security’ and click on the link. This will take you to the Dashboard. You can also get there by clicking on the ‘Dashboard’ option from the dropdown. The ‘Current Alerts’ can be filtered depending on the severity levels, from ‘Informational’ up to ‘Critical’.
Step 2) Each alert on the list can be viewed in more detail by clicking on the small green ‘+’ sign. This will tell you what the alert is, a description of the alert in more detail, and the time and date that the alert was first seen.
Step 3) Check out the pic below for an example of what the critical alerts look like, once filtered. Use the ‘+’ sign to learn more about each point. These are the ones you need to sort out IMMEDIATELY!
Step 4) The next filter is for ‘Medium’ level security issues, such as not finding a file in the root directory and displaying errors to all users.
Step 5) The next list of security issues is ‘Low’. This is where you want to find any security alerts, if you have to have any.
Step 6) Informational alerts are more general alerts, such as informing you of latest updates and installations, etc.
