How to Use the WP Rocket Tools: Cache Management, Settings Exporter and More

In this section of the guide to the WP Rocket plugin, we will show you how to configure the Tools Options.

Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.

Step 2) From the left-hand sidebar of the Dashboard, navigate to Settings -> WP Rocket -> Tools.


Step 3) Complete the fields as outlined below:

A. Beta Tester Place a checkmark in the Yes I do! checkbox to participate in the WP Rocket Beta Program and get earlier access to new versions.
B. Clear Cache Click the Clear Cache button to clear the cache for the entire website.
C. Preload cache Click the Preload Cache button to request a bot crawl to preload the cache (homepage and its internal links).
D. Settings Exporter Click the Download Options button to export your WP Rocket Settings.

Select to open or save the WP Rocket Settings file.


For this example, Save File was selected.

The contents of this file will look something like this:


Save this file to a safe location in case you need to import these settings back in at a later date.

E. Settings Importer Click the browse button to locate and select the WP Rocket Settings export file saved earlier. Click the Upload File and Import Settings button to complete this process.
F. Update Rollback If the version 2.4 is causing some issues you can ask for a rollback and reinstall the last version you used before.

Please backup your settings before, use the Download options button. Also, the Auto-update feature will be deactivated, do not activate it again if you don’t want to upgrade.


Step 4) Click the Save Changes button to save any changes.
