A Complete, Working Example of Using VideoNab
In this section of the guide to the VideoNab plugin, we will create a new website called Everything Cakes, display New Recipes on the home page and separate the recipes into various Categories.

Step 1) Install a new version of WordPress. Click here to download the latest version.
Step 2) Once the WordPress Installation has completed, login to the WordPress Dashboard.
Selecting a Theme
Step 3) From the left-hand sidebar of the Dashboard, navigate to Appearance -> Themes.
Step 4) Mouse over the Twenty Fourteen theme to display two buttons – Activate and Live Preview.
Step 5) For this example, click the Activate button to select this theme.
In this area we will customize the following fields:
- Site Heading
- E-mail Address – (if you want notifications to go to a different email address)
Step 4) From the left-hand sidebar of the Dashboard, navigate to Settings -> General Settings.
Step 5) Complete the fields as shown below, replacing the URL and E-mail Address fields with your own information.
Step 6) Click the Save Changes button.
Add a Header Image
Next, we will upload a new header image for the Home page of Everything Cakes. The dimensions of this picture should be 1260 pixels wide x 250 pixels high. Click here to download and save the header graphic (sized appropriately).
Step 7) From the left-hand sidebar of the Dashboard, navigate to Appearance -> Header.
Step 8) Click the Browse button to locate and select the header image saved earlier.
Step 9) Click the Upload button.
Step 10) From the Crop Header Image page, click the Skip Cropping, publish image as is button (this graphic was appropriately sized and does need to be cropped).
Step 11) Remove the checkmark from the Header Text checkbox.
Step 12) Click the Save Changes button.
Create a New Page
The next step is to create a new page where you want the VideoNab videos to display.
Step 13) From the left-hand sidebar of the Dashboard, navigate to Pages -> Add New.
Step 14) Complete the fields as shown below.
Step 15) Click the Publish button to publish the new page.

Install & Activate the VideoNab Plugin
We are now ready to install the VideoNab plugin.

Next we will configure the settings to scour YouTube for Layer Cake Recipes.
Step 17) From the left-hand sidebar of the Dashboard, navigate to VideoNab -> Settings.
Step 18) Complete the fields highlighted as shown below.
Step 19) Click the Save Changes button.
Assign Categories to Videos
When the VideoNab was installed, default categories were created.
For this example, we will remove all existing categories and create new ones.
Step 20) From the left-hand sidebar of the Dashboard, navigate to VideoNab -> Video Categories.
Step 21) Place a checkmark to the left of the Name heading checkbox to select All Categories.
Step 22) From the Bulk Actions dropdown list, select Delete.
Step 23) Click the Apply button to delete all the Video Categories.
Step 24) From the Categories page, add the categories shown below. Click here for instructions on Adding Video Categories.
Assigning Videos to Categories
For this example, only a sample of the available YouTube videos will be assigned to Categories. You will need to repeat this process for the remainder of the videos on your own.
25) From the left-hand sidebar of the Dashboard, navigate to VideoNab -> VideoNab to display a list of YouTube videos matching the search criteria entered earlier.
Step 26) To assign multiple videos to categories, place a checkmark in the appropriate checkboxes.
Step 27) From the Bulk Actions dropdown list, select Edit.
Step 28) Click the Apply button.
Step 29) From the Bulk Edit window, place a checkmark in the appropriate checkboxes. For this example, All Cakes, Recent Recipes and Red Velvet Cakes categories was selected.
Step 30) Click the Update button.
Step 31) To assign a single video to a category/categories, mouse over the video to display a sub-menu.
Step 32) Click the Quick Edit hyperlink.
Step 33) From the Quick Edit window, place a checkmark in the appropriate checkboxes as shown below.
Step 34) Click the Update button.
Setting up the Display
Step 35) From the left-hand sidebar of the Dashboard, navigate to Settings -> Reading.
Step 36) Make sure that you have selected A static Page from the Front page displays field.
Step 37) From the Front Page dropdown list, select Our Recent Finds (the page created earlier).
Step 38) Click the Save Changes button.
Viewing the Home Page
Step 39) From the Dashboard navigate to Cakes for Every Occassion -> Visit Site located in the top left corner.
