Customizing Password Reset Emails in WooCommerce
In this section of the guide to setting up an ecommerce website using the WooCommerce WordPress plugin, we will take a look at the customizing the forgotten password emails.
Step 1) Head to the Dashboard and click on “WooCommerce”. From the settings page, choose “Emails” from the top toolbar, and then click on “Reset Password” once the second toolbar appears.
Step 2) When the customer resets their password, they will receive an email notification for peace of mind if you have ticked the box enaling the email to be sent out.
Step 3) You can alter the email subject line from “Password reset for (site title)” to anything you like, or leave it as the default subject.
Step 4) The email heading is defaulted as “Password Reset Instructions”, but you can change this as you see fit, should you wish to do so.
Step 5) The format of your emails can be in HTML, Text or Multipart form. Simply choose from the dropdown which one you would prefer and then save your options at the bottom of the page.
Step 6) As with all the email options, you can choose to change your HTML email template by following the instructions provided and then editing your HTML in the theme. This is only recommended if you have experience or the person who is editing is 100% confident with editing the theme.
