Changing Emails Sent on Account Creation in WooCommerce
In this section of the guide to setting up an ecommerce website using WooCommerce, we will take a look customizing the emails generated on new account creation.
Step 1) To change your email options for a new account, head to your Dashboard and click on “WooCommerce”. From the Settings page, click on “Emails” from the toolbar at the top, and then choose “New Account” from the secondary toolbar that appears.
Step 2) When a customer creates a new account from the My Accounts page, they will be notified by email if you have ticked the box enabling for this notification to be sent out.
Step 3) The email subject for when a new account notification is being sent out can be changed from the generic “Your account on (site title) to whatever you would like it to be, should you wish to do so.
Step 4) The email heading is defaulted to “Welcome to (site title)” at first, but you can spice it up if you fancy changing it. Alternatively, you can leave it as the default provided.
Step 5) The email format can be changed from HTML to text or multipart, depending on your preference.
Step 6) Change your HTML email template by following the instructions provided and then editing your HTML in the theme. This is only recommended if you have experience or the person who is editing is 100% confident with editing the theme.
