How to Use Product Shipping Classes in WooCommerce
In the next step of the WooCommerce WordPress plugin guide, we will take you through the process of adding product shipping classes to your product pages, which can be used to help group products together that have similar shipping methods…
Step 1) To find Shipping Classes, head to your Dashboard and click on “Products” on the left-hand sidebar. This will open up the dropdown options, where you will find Shipping Classes.
Step 2) On the Shipping Classes page, you are given the option to edit or delete existing shipping classes, or to add new ones.
Step 3) The first step in adding a new shipping class is to choose a name that captures what says exactly what the shipping class entails, e.g. Free shipping, etc.
Step 4) The next step is to choose a slug which will then become the URL for the shipping class page, e.g. www.yourwebsite.com/free-shipping. You will need to add numbers and hyphens where appropriate to ensure that the link isn’t broken.
Step 5) You can create a parent shipping class for other shipping class subcategories to fall under, e.g. Free Shipping would be the parent, Free Shipping in the UK could be a category.
Step 6) If your shipping classes are similar, you can write a description to make each one stand out on their own. This could save you time search around for the right shipping class.
