Welcome to the WooCommerce Poor Guys Swiss Army Knife guide, a great tool for WooCommerce websites, as it gives you control over the settings of your e-commerce site in a simple and effective system.

Step 1) On the Dashboard of your website, scroll down the left-hand sidebar and click on ‘Plugins’

Step 2) From the ‘Installed Plugins’ page, click on ‘Add New’ at the top of the page. Alternatively, click on ‘Add New’ from the dropdown menu under ‘Plugins’ on the sidebar.

Step 3) On the ‘Add Plugins’ page, type in the name of your plugin in the search box on the right hand side, at the top of the page.

Step 4) From the ‘Search Results’ page, scroll down to your chosen plugin and click the button marked ‘Install Now’. If you would like to learn more about your plugin, click the blue link marked ‘More Details’

Step 5) The plugin is now installed and unpacked into your website. The last thing to do now is click ‘Activate Plugin’

Step 6) Once activated, you will be redirected to the ‘Installed Plugins’ page. From here, you will be told that you need to install and activate WooCommerce before using the swiss army knife. Head to Plugins >> Add New to start the process.

Step 7) On the Add Plugins page, type in ‘WooCommerce’ in the search box and then install the WooCommerce plugin by hitting ‘Install Now’ when the search results arrive.

Step 8) On the Installed Plugins page, scroll down to ‘WooCommerce Poor Guys Swiss Army Knife’ and click on ‘Activate’. Now that you have WooCommerce installed, the plugin will be activated and you can get started.

Step 9) Click on WooCommerce >> WooCommerce Poor Guys Swiss Army Knife to be taken to the page where you’ll find all of your settings in one place. The first section is ‘Shop Settings’. From here, you can set how many product items, columns and images you are allowed on each page, as well as enable tools such as Fast Cart and Fast Checkout, and enable configuration for Payment Gateways.

Step 10) Labels can be extremely important on an e-commerce site, and from the ‘Label Settings’ section, you can create labels for a variety of buttons and tasks for the customer to follow, including On Sale, Add to Cart, Buy Product, Out of Stock, and many more. Simply fill in the boxes shown below.

Step 11) When you are sending out emails to customers via your ecommerce site, it is important that you keep a copy. You can do this by setting a CC (Carbon copy) or BCC (Blind carbon copy) of the email sent out for your own records. Fill in the boxes below with the email address you will be using for your site.

Step 12) The Cart Settings are important because this sets out the rules and labels for how customers engage with the point of sale section of your site. You want to be as clear as possible here, not just with the labels but with the allowances (e.g. minimum/maximum cart items, etc.) and options you give. Read through the options below.

Step 13) In the Checkout Settings section, you can create extra fields for your checkout (add billing email address, etc.) and set options for time and date for deliveries, etc. Read through the list below and choose which elements you wish to add.

Step 14) WooCommerce Checkout Localisation allows you to configure built-in fields for enabled countries. The checkout form will then reconfigure when customers switch billing or shipping country, which in turn allows you to handle labels and placeholders for enabled countries.

Step 15) Setting up the WooCommerce Checkout Billing Section allows you to create an easy form for your customers to fill out when making their final arrangements for payment and delivery of goods. Add, edit and/or delete the fields you need in order to capture as much data as you need from your customers.

Step 16) The same rules as Step 15 apply for the shipping section of the WooCommerce checkout settings.
