The seventh step in the guide to the WordPress SEO by Yoast plugin guide will take you through the three different tools available to users of the plugin, which include the Bulk Post Editor, File Editor and the Import and Export tools.

Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.

Step 2) From the Admin Panel, click on SEO >> Tools. You will see that you have three choices for great tools provided by WordPress SEO. The first one is Bulk Editor, which allows you to change titles and descriptions of posts all in one go. Click on the link to get started.

2

Step 3) In the Bulk Editor, switch between Title and Description using the toolbar provided. All the details for each post will be on view.

3

Step 4) The next step is to change the Title or Description by adding a new one into the box provided. Click on Save or Save All if you want it to be the same for all the posts on your list.

4

Step 5) The next Tool to take a look at is the File Editor, which allows you to change files for your SEO, including robots.txt and htaccess file.

7

Step 6) The first step in the File Editor section is to create a robots.txt file, which you can do by hitting the button provided. You can edit your .htaccess file in the section provided, but only do this if you know what you’re doing.

8

Step 7) The final part of Tools to look at is the Import and Exports section. From here, you can import and export SEO settings from another blog or plugin.

10

Step 8) In the Import section, hit the button marked Choose File to find the file on your computer, then click on Import Settings when you’ve uploaded it.

11

Step 9) The Export section allows you to export your WordPress SEO settings into a file (tick the box if you want to include your Taxonomy Metadata) that you can save to your computer and add to other websites.

12

Step 10) The Import from other SEO plugins section is used to transport SEO data from other SEO based plugins you may have used before (see the examples below). You can also delete the old data once it has been imported.

13

Step 11) The Import from other Plugin section allows you to import data from other Yoast plugins that might not be SEO plugins (see examples below).

14

The next step in the guide will focus on General Post Settings.
