How to Install WP-DB Manager
The first step in the guide to the WP-DB Manager WordPress Plugin will take you through the process of installing the plugin onto your website.
Step 1) On your websites Dashboard, scroll down the left-hand sidebar and click on ‘Plugins’. Then choose ‘Add New’ from the dropdown options.
Step 2) On the ‘Add Plugins’ page, you will see a box in the right-hand corner that says ‘Search Plugins’ inside. Enter ‘wp-dbmanager’ into it and it should find the plugin, as shown below. Now click on ‘Install Now’ to get the plugin installed onto your site.
Step 3) Once installed and unpacked, you can complete the process by clicking the button marked ‘Activate Plugin’. This will redirect you to the ‘Installed Plugins’ page, where you will find WP-DB Manager.
Step 4) On the Dashboard, click on ‘Database’ from the left-hand sidebar. This will show you all of your Database Information, including the Host, Name, User, Type and Version of the Database.
Step 5) The Table Information shows all of the different tables – from events, failed logins, global meta, login activity and much more – and shows you how many records are being kept and how much data and index is being used. This is important to know for when you come to emptying or dropping table, which we will look at later in the guide.
