Configuring WP Review Widgets and Display Options
The second step of the guide to the WP Review WordPress Plugin is to look through the settings and show you what they do for your website.
Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.
Step 2) From the Installed Plugins page, click on Settings underneath the WP Review plugin, or scroll down the left-hand sidebar of your Dashboard and click on Settings. From the dropdown menu, scroll down to the bottom and choose WP Review to be taken to the settings page for the plugin.
Step 3) The settings begin with the location where you want your reviews to be situated. You can choose the top of the page, bottom of the page, or custom. If you choose the latter, you will be given the shortcode [wp-review], which you can copy and paste into your post content (in HTML). This will allow customers to leave reviews in that post.
Following that, you can alter the colours of the Review, Font, Heading Background, Background and Border to suit the look of your website.
Step 4) The next step is to add the WP Review widget to your website sidebars. This way, your reviews will show up on every page of your site in the sidebar, and customers will see that you encourage reviews, and will read your existing ones. Head to Appearance -> Widgets to get started.
Step 5) Scroll down the Widgets page until you find the WP Review Widget, and drag and drop it into the sidebar area where you wish your reviews to be situated.
Step 6) Once you have placed the plugin, a list of options will appear for the widget, which include the type of review you want to show on the sidebar (Top Rated, Most Recent), whether or not to show the date, and the size of the thumbnail. When you have ticked all the right boxes, click save, and then head back to your site to see how it looks. You can edit this at any time.
The next step of the guide will focus on WP Customer Reviews – Creating a Review Form for Your Site.
