Setting Up WP Touch Mobile’s Compatibility Settings
In this section of the guide, we will take you through WP Touch Mobile’s compatibility settings.
Step 1) Login to the WordPress Dashboard.
Step 2) At the top of the Core Settings page, hit the Compatibility icon to bring up your options.
Step 3) In this section, you can remove shortcodes and URL’s that you don’t want to show on your mobile site. This is useful for websites that want to keep their mobile sites as simple as possible, i.e. Home Page, Product Pages, Contact Page only.
Shortcodes should be separated by commas. URL’s should be on their own lines and written as /products or /contact etc.
Step 4) Add any Custom User-Agents that you need. User agents are the different kinds of internet enabled mobiles that will work with WP Touch. You can test your phone beforehand and then add the user-agent to add it to the list of compatible options.
Step 5) When you have filled out all of your options, hit Save Changes, or hit Preview Theme to see how your site will look on a mobile in its current form.
The next section of the guide will look at the Themes and Extensions available for WP Touch Mobile.
